High Praise from Willmott Dixon on Canterbury Mills Project

Congratulations to our Project Manager Neil Shepherd and the team working on Canterbury Mills Primary School in Croydon receiving the Health, Safety and Quality Award in November.

“It is with great pleasure that I contact you with regard to the Above and Beyond accolades for Neil, Jared and Bob from DES Electrical. The awards have been given for a mixture of H&S and Quality. Neil and the team have been meticulous, proactive, engaging and solution focused from the get go which are the attributes that I feel make the perfect recipe for not only a successful project but an outstanding one. We still have a long way to go at Canterbury Mills and the attitude shown from DES has, and will continue to play a big part in our success. Thank you for the investment into the culture that we try to inspire here at Willmott Dixon.”

In addition to this the team received further praise in relation to both their GSI scores and the M&E site report.

Canterbury Mills GSI Scores

“As a company I believe sometimes we are quick to criticise but slow on occasions to praise. With that being said  I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and commitment on this project. Through all of the challenges and numerous external visits we have had, all of you have still maintained an extremely high level of standards, not only in H&S but Quality as well. This is a credit to the high level of supervision that is demonstrated on site. This has been proven with the excellent recent GSI scores along with the one of the first Quality inspection done in the company.

The inspectors said and I quote:

‘ This site was a breath of fresh air. It was clear to see that everyone cares deeply about quality and strives for the best. It is the best site I have seen in regards the use of field view and quality checks. Fantastic work, keep it up.’

I am extremely confident that if we continue and maintain this work ethic then this project will be a major success for all involved.”

Canterbury Mills – M&E Site Report

“I would just like to take this opportunity, to commend the phenomenally good installation work which is being carried out by the MEP Supply Chain. In particular I can see Neil has an eye for quality, “do it right attitude” whom I am aware has had a substantial amount of final design work to complete in the early stages to ensure a high quality product.

I am sure that progressing through the project in this manner and maintaining/managing these high standards will see this project as a high profile, unique school that everyone in Croydon will be positively discussing. Well Done!”

Steve Laird – Willmott Dixon Constructions Service Manager

DES are incredibly proud of the team and the work they do.

A huge well done!
