Wealden District Council
The objective was to create a single site headquarters for Wealden District Council. Staff were relocated from Crowborough and existing Hailsham offices into a new, refurbished site at Vicarage Road, Hailsham at an estimated saving of £350,000 a year.
DES completed the electrical installation on the Wealden District Council’s new HQ. An environmentally-friendly building will be built at Vicarage Lane at a build cost of approx £20 million.
The council building has been modified and a three-storey extension built to house a new reception, conference and meeting rooms and general office. The existing community hall will be refurbished for council meetings with rooms at the nearby leisure centre made available.
