Project Overview
The Basketball arena was one of the most heavily-used venues within the Olympic Park during London 2012, with competition events taking place almost everyday.
The venue was not only one of the most visually dramatic buildings of the 2012 Games, it is also one of the biggest temporary structures ever erected for any Olympic or Paralympic Games.
Initial works started on the Basketball arena in October 2009, and construction was completed on time and within budget in June 2011 – making it one of the quickest Olympic Park venues to be constructed.
